Battleplan English ("the App") is a mobile application available for iOS and Android. This Privacy Policy applies to both versions of the App. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights when you use the App.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

Battleplan English does not require users to create a Battleplan English account. Users may, however, need an Apple Account or Google Account to download the App or make purchases through the relevant app store.

The App does not request personal information such as:

Name
Address
Telephone number
Date of birth
Photographs
Contacts

The only personal information we receive is any information you voluntarily provide when contacting us for support.

Information Collected Automatically

We may receive limited technical and diagnostic information relating to the operation of the App through Apple, Google, Cloudflare, or other services used to operate the App. This may include device type, operating system version, App version, device language, crash information, performance information and similar technical information.

We use this information to operate, secure, troubleshoot and improve the App. We do not use it for advertising or to build profiles of individual users.

3. Learning Progress

Battleplan English stores your learning progress locally on your device.

This may include:

Completed lessons
Quiz scores
Vocabulary progress
Grammar progress
Revision history
Application settings

Learning progress is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to Battleplan English servers for storage or synchronisation. It will normally be removed when you delete the App or erase its data. Depending on your device and operating-system settings, some App data may also be included in device backups managed by Apple or Google.

4. Content Delivery

Battleplan English delivers educational content through secure internet services.

To improve performance, reliability, and security, lesson content may be delivered through Cloudflare's global content delivery network (CDN). As part of providing content delivery and security services, Cloudflare may process technical connection information such as IP addresses, request information and related network data. Cloudflare processes this information in accordance with its own privacy and data-processing policies.

5. Analytics and Diagnostics

Battleplan English may receive aggregated, pseudonymous or diagnostic information from platform providers such as Apple and Google to understand App performance and reliability.

Examples include:

App crashes
Performance information
Feature usage
Aggregated usage statistics

We do not use this information to identify individual users or for behavioural advertising.

6. Advertising

Battleplan English does not display third-party advertisements.

We do not sell your personal information or use your data for targeted advertising.

7. In-App Purchases

Purchases made through the iOS version of the App are processed by Apple through the App Store. Purchases made through the Android version are processed by Google through Google Play.

Battleplan English does not receive or store your payment card or bank-account details.

We may, however, receive or process limited transaction information necessary to verify purchases and provide access to purchased content. This may include the product purchased, purchase status, transaction identifiers or purchase tokens.

For the Android version, Google Play purchase tokens may be transmitted to our secure backend service and verified with Google Play in order to confirm purchases, prevent fraud and restore access to purchased content.

Apple and Google process payment information in accordance with their respective privacy policies.

8. Third-Party Services

The App may rely on trusted third-party services, including:

Apple – App Store, StoreKit, App Analytics and diagnostic services (iOS)
Google – Google Play, Google Play Billing and Play diagnostic services (Android)
Cloudflare – content delivery, backend infrastructure and security services

Each provider processes information in accordance with its own privacy policy.

9. Data Retention

Learning progress and App settings stored locally remain on the user's device until they are deleted by the user, the App's data is erased, or the App is uninstalled, subject to any device backup settings.

Technical and diagnostic information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for security, troubleshooting and App improvement, or in accordance with the retention policies of the relevant service provider.

Purchase-verification information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to verify purchases, maintain access to purchased content, prevent fraud and comply with applicable legal obligations.

Information voluntarily provided when contacting us for support is retained only for as long as necessary to resolve the request and meet any applicable legal obligations.

10. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information processed in connection with Battleplan English. Where information is transmitted between the App, our backend services, and third-party service providers, appropriate technical safeguards are used. However, no internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.

11. Children's Privacy

Battleplan English is intended for educational use by learners of English.

Battleplan English is not specifically designed or directed towards young children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the App. Where applicable law establishes a minimum age for consent to the processing of personal information, we comply with that requirement.

If you believe that a child has provided personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.

12. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable data protection laws, including the right to:

Request access to personal information
Request correction of inaccurate information
Request deletion of personal information
Object to certain processing activities
Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

Since Battleplan English stores learning progress primarily on your device, deleting the App will generally remove your stored learning data.

Where processing is based on legitimate interests, you may have the right to object to that processing. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.

Requests concerning personal information held by Battleplan English can be made using the contact details below. Data stored solely on your device is controlled directly through the App and your device settings.

13. International Users

Battleplan English may be made available in multiple countries. Where the GDPR or other applicable data-protection legislation applies, personal information is processed in accordance with those requirements.

Some service providers, including Apple, Google and Cloudflare, may process information in countries outside the European Economic Area. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used for international transfers of personal data.

14. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
